Taking a Step Forward in Faith

Faith to step forward:
Isaiah 7:9…If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.

Taking a step forward in faith can be scary. But, if we don’t take that step forward in faith we are being disobedient.

A Centurion man went to Jesus to ask if he would heal his servant. Because of his faith he healed the paralyzed man without having to go to him. The Centurion man stepped forward in faith. He trusted that Jesus could and would heal his servant. Jesus was marveled at his faith.
When we trust Jesus and step forward in faith he works miracles in our favor.

Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

God wants us to trust him and take steps forward in faith. When we have faith of a mustard seed we can move mountains. But if we have no faith what can we do?

Have no fear:

Before taking that step forward we may be living in fear and be afraid of the unknown. But, we shouldn’t fear what God wants to show us or give us. He wants us to step forward knowing that what he has for us is the best for us and his blessings are beautiful.

Matthew 10:26 So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

And

Matthew 10:31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

When we take that step forward in faith God reveals what is covered and uncovers what is hidden. We don’t have to fear the unknown. He works miracles in our favor. He doesn’t ever let us walk into the unknown without going before us. Deuteronomy 31:8

Psalm 119:113 Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.

God opens doors:

God will open doors and show us the path to take when he asks us to take a step forward in faith. When we run into closed doors we need to wait and be patient for God to show us the path and the open door.

Proverbs 8:34
Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.

I had a dream about a week ago where Jesus was in front of me, guiding my steps. We were walking through a hedge maze. Before us was a dead end, but he turned around, looked at me and opened the hedge door. When he looked at me it was as if he was saying to me, “Trust me, I’m going to make a way.” And, he did it! He made a way. What looked like a dead end was just the door that he had to open. He went before me and showed me the way. I just needed to step forward in faith.

The end result:

God blesses us when we are obedient. When we step forward in faith and trust him-he blesses us and the end result is beautiful.

We can’t have the same beautiful end results doing things on our own. We need God before us, guiding us to get the end result we desire.

We need to trust him. We don’t need to be afraid because he goes before us and he is with us, he won’t leave us or forsake us. He goes before us and prepares a place for us.

The end result is always amazing when God goes before us.

Are you taking steps forward in faith
